The. Half. Marathon.

Excuse me - I'm still catching my breath. :) Just kidding.

We had a great half marathon - Thank you to everyone for all your support!! We felt like we ran it really well for our first one. It was a little tough to manage energy output - we ran the first third pretty fast, the middle a little more conservatively, and really put it on the last two miles. We felt like we were flying! We had such a fun time and to do it together was really rewarding. I can't imagine training or running it without Patrick - we have all these funny memories from things during the race. Right now, though, we are more consumed with becoming un-sore. :)

Thanks SO MUCH to all our "fans." :) (are we pros or what? sarcasm, people.) We saw Julie and Reed in the first couple miles, we passed Lisa and Molly after the hills on mile nine, we saw Christie and Paul, Patrick's family friends on mile eleven, and Asa on mile 12 (who is a major badass because he finished in 1:45 then came BACK to watch). Then we came around the LAST stretch, and there, alone in the sky, was this huge "SUPER COOPERS" sign (see mom's blog) and i just started laughing. We could not have been more excited to see everyone - mom, dad, julie, logan and jake were all grins waiting for us. We teared up a little but kept our eye on the time. Thank you SO SO SO much to everyone who came out - it meant the world to us. And thank you to everyone for all the messages of support and excitement. It really pumped us up. (how arnold am i?) We wound up finishing in 2:33 (i beat Patrick, btw. Fine, by one second, but i beat him). We are looking forward to San Fran in July!

Anyway, we rushed home to watch the Cardinals game, and during a break, I went back into our room for something and laughed at what I found. It was the race 'aftermath.' We were so excited to get home and get cleaned up that we just threw everything on the floor. This also represents how exhausted I was feeling :)

Thanks again to everyone!!!!!! Love you all!

Woo hoo! So proud of you guys!!! After being involved in the Brooksie Run, it gave me a whole new perspective on these runs and how much fun they are...they really are awesome events!! You guys did great!!! Although I'll never run one (Lynn-knee) as I've been dubbed by Kel - I would like to walk one - I hope that's in my future :-)

Good job, guys!! It was fun to watch and cheer everyone on. Even if the lady in front of me got mad at the cow bell. Hel-LO... you're at a race, you're supposed to be loud for the runners at the finish line. OK, off my soapbox now. :o) Congrats!!! Love the race aftermath pic! ;o)
